This calculator turns a Polish gross salary into your estimated net pay, showing how ZUS contributions, the health contribution and PIT shape your take-home pay. It is the fastest way to judge a Polish job offer before you sign — and to compare Warsaw, Kraków and Wrocław offers on equal terms.
How to use the calculator
- Enter your gross annual salary in złoty — the figure in your contract (umowa o pracę).
- Choose your contract type — the standard employment contract, or the under-26 variant, which applies the under-26 PIT relief (up to 85,528 zł of employment income exempt from PIT, though ZUS and health still apply).
- Read the breakdown — ZUS first, then the 9% health contribution, then PIT on what remains. The health line surprises most newcomers: it is the second-biggest deduction on most payslips.
- Share or save the result — the “Copy link to this result” button encodes your inputs in the URL, handy when comparing two offers side by side.

The formula: how net salary is calculated
Poland taxes employment income on a two-rate PIT scale, after employee social contributions are deducted. In symbols:
Net = Gross − ZUS − Health − PIT
- ZUS employee contributions = 9.76% pension + 1.5% disability (both only on pay up to 282,600 zł a year in 2026) + 2.45% sickness on all pay — 13.71% in total below the cap.
- Health contribution = 9% of (gross − ZUS). It is not deductible from PIT.
- Taxable income = gross − ZUS − 3,000 zł standard deductible costs (250 zł a month for employees living where they work).
- PIT (2026) = 12% of taxable income minus the 3,600 zł tax-reducing amount (which makes the first 30,000 zł effectively tax-free), or 10,800 zł + 32% of the excess above 120,000 zł of taxable income. A 4% solidarity levy applies only above 1,000,000 zł of income and is not modelled here.
One Polish quirk: the health contribution looks small at 9% but it is charged on almost your whole salary and cannot be deducted, so it costs more than the headline PIT rate suggests at middle incomes.

Worked example
Take an expat on 120,000.00 zł a year on an employment contract, with standard costs. Employee ZUS is 16,452.00 zł (13.71% of gross, below the 282,600 zł cap). The health contribution is 9,319.32 zł (9% of gross minus ZUS). Taxable income is 100,548.00 zł, so PIT is 8,465.76 zł (12% minus the 3,600 zł reduction). Result: 85,762.92 zł net per year — 7,146.91 zł per month.
Compare that with our Finland net salary calculator 2026 before you decide between offers — and remember the under-26 relief, which removes PIT entirely on up to 85,528 zł of employment income for employees under 26.
Net salary at a glance: 2026 estimates
| Gross / year | ZUS employee / year | Health 9% / year | PIT / year | Net / year | Net / month |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 60,000.00 zł | 8,226.00 zł | 4,659.66 zł | 2,252.88 zł | 44,861.46 zł | 3,738.45 zł |
| 120,000.00 zł | 16,452.00 zł | 9,319.32 zł | 8,465.76 zł | 85,762.92 zł | 7,146.91 zł |
| 180,000.00 zł | 24,678.00 zł | 13,978.98 zł | 21,143.04 zł | 120,199.98 zł | 10,016.66 zł |
| 240,000.00 zł | 32,904.00 zł | 18,638.64 zł | 37,710.72 zł | 150,746.64 zł | 12,562.22 zł |
Two patterns surprise newcomers: at middle incomes the health contribution rivals PIT as a deduction, and above the 282,600 zł ZUS cap the pension and disability lines stop — so very high earners keep a larger share of each extra złoty from the social side, even as the 32% PIT rate bites.

Methodology
Income tax: the 2026 PIT scale published by the Polish Ministry of Finance — 12% on taxable income up to 120,000 zł less the 3,600 zł tax-reducing amount, 10,800 zł + 32% above. ZUS (employee): pension 9.76% + disability 1.5% capped at 282,600 zł a year, sickness 2.45% uncapped, per ZUS and biznes.gov.pl 2026 rules. Health: 9% of (gross − ZUS), not deductible. Costs: standard 3,000 zł a year. Simplifications: no PPK, no under-26/return reliefs in the default view (under-26 is a separate toggle), no solidarity levy. Figures are illustrative estimates — verify with your employer or a tax advisor.
ExpatMoneyEU verdict: on a 120,000.00 zł gross salary in Poland, expect roughly 7,146.91 zł per month net in 2026 — and if you are under 26, the PIT relief can lift that further. Always run the number with your real contract type before you sign.
